I have been a lifelong American reptile hobbyist, keeping and breeding just about everything you could think of. In 2003, I started on a quest to find foreign suppliers and learn how to import reptiles into the USA. Of course, no one was willing to help me at all so this was a solo mission to do the impossible. It took many trips overseas to see, learn and do but it was not without its ups and downs. In 2007, I found myself meeting with a supplier in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We were both operating on a small scale but our business relationship was smooth as we were evolving and growing both together and separately in our respective countries.
During all those years while operating DM Exotics, I also held down a regular career which finally allowed me to retire from at the end of 2020. Leading up this point, I was at a crossroads trying to decide whether to also retire from the reptile business or do I somehow forge ahead and put my newfound freedom to work. After much deliberating, the decision was made to establish a breeding facility in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia via my longtime business partner and friend, and relocate my collection. There were many logistical issues(especially during the pandemic) but we put this entire project together during this time and the last unknown was when a foreigner(me) would be allowed into Malaysia with the covid travel restrictions.
Welcome to what we now refer to as the "Reptile Lab". Our facility has some of the rarest snakes in the global hobby and also continues to evolve. I have since relocated to Thailand and we enjoy our frequent visits to Kuala Lumpur. We are still actively involved in the reptile business in a handful of countries and our facility will be a never-ending work in progress as we are able to acquire and bring in new species for breeding. This site represents all of our current species and as new ones are added we will update you all here. This amazing opportunity was just one of many that came my way after that initial brazen move to get on a plane and make things happen.
You are welcome to keep coming back here to check for updates. However, you may want to consider subscribing to the DMExotics Youtube Channel! We continually update our viewers in video format when we pass through the facility.
